Wonders of Norway

Joining Day 1: Today is the joining day where you will meet your fellow riders / co-riders & crew.

Day 2: Starting in Hamburg, Germany, it’s a short distance to the port city of Kiel where we take the luxury overnight ferry to Oslo, Norway.

Day 3: Arriving mid-morning into Oslo we have the day to explore the wonderful Norwegian capital.

Day 4: Leaving Oslo, we ride northwest and enter the UNESCO listed Western Fjord region, an unbelievable landscape of mighty fords, towering peaks and century old traditional villages and stave churches. We overnight on the shores of one of Norway’s greatest fjords, Nærøyfjord

Day 5: Regarded as one of Norway’s most scenic routes we ride the magnificent Bjorgavegen or Snow Road with inspiring views of the Aurland Fjord from the incredible Stegastein Viewpoint. We visit the Jostedalsbreen Glacier in the afternoon before overnighting in the stunning village of Fjærland

Day 6: Its another remarkable day of breathtaking scenery as we continue north riding along the shores of Innvikfjorden. From Hellesylt we take a ferry along the jewel in the Norwegian crown, for fjords at least, UNESCO listed Geiranger Fjord where we overnight at a lodge offering exquisite views of the fjord.

Day 7: Today we ride another of Norway’s magnificent routes that includes the legendary Trollstigen Pass. It’s an overload of fjords before we arrive at Molde, beautifully located on the shores of Romsdalfjorden, with views of 222 mountain peaks in the distance.

Day 8: Today includes “that” road we have all seen, the renown Atlantic Route that literally crosses the Atlantic via a spectacular series of bridges before continuing onto to Kristiansund. We hit the main road and ride north onto the historic city of Trondheim, highly regarded for its culinary delights and historic buildings.

Day 9: A Day off the bikes, we can explore the wonderful Bakklandet old town and the Nidelva River waterfront, the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral or the Kristiansen Fortress offering wonderful views across Trondheim and its fjord.

Day 10: We ride due north today dropping into “hell” on our way! The ride follows wild rivers famous for their salmon and stop off at the thundering Larkforsen (waterfalls). The landscape becomes more tundra like as we near the Arctic Circle and overnight at Mo I Rana.

Day 11: An early start will see us cross the arctic Circle and ride onto the port city of Bodo where we shall take the ferry across to the natural wonder that is the Lofoton Islands, home to what must be some of the most astounding scenery on earth.

Day 12: Today we can explore the breathtaking Lofotens, we can take a challenging walk to a viewpoint for magnificent views or ride amongst the landscape or towering granites peaks that shelter tiny fishing communities such as Å or Reine, from the Atlantic. The scenery is almost indescribable and is surely the most magnificent on earth.

Day 13: We get to spend another day surrounded by impossible scenery as we ride to the capital of the Lofotens at Svolvær. We catch one of the most iconic ferry services in the world, the Hurtigruten Coastal Express that has been operating since 1893 for an incredible cruise along the rugged Norwegian coastline.

Days 14 &15: The next two days are spent on this historic cruise with unparalleled views of one of the world’s most scenic coastlines including Helgeland Coast with its towering mountains and maze of islands. We visit 14 isolated villages, some not connected by road, before arriving in the city of Bergen.

Day 16: Upon disembarkation we will spend the remainder of the day in the city of Bergen allowing us time to visit the UNESCO listed beautiful wharf area known as Bryggen or the lively fish markets that has been selling fish since 1276!

Day 17: With our land legs back we once again hit the road and re-enter the spectacular Western Fjord region taking the long way round as we ride the shoreline of the stunning Hardanger Fjord. Today is another ride that is widely regarded as one of Norway’s finest routes, to Roldal, our overnight stop.

Day 18: Riding south we take the renown Suleskarr Road culminating with the incredible Lysvegen Pass, an extraordinary series of 27 tight hairpins bends that ascends to a panoramic viewpoint of the beautiful Lysebotn Fjord far below. We overnight near the village of Dirdal staying in a series of traditional grass roofed huts that have been converted into excellent accommodation.

Day 19: Tonight we are in Denmark but not before riding south hitting what is known as Norway’s Rivera. Here is a completely different side to Norway’s legendary fjord scenery as we ride through quaint seaside villages and visit the southernmost point of Norway before taking the late afternoon ferry across to Denmark to Hirtshals.

Day 20: Our last day we see us open the throttle as we cross out of Denmark and enter Germany but not before visiting the surprising Elvis Museum. We arrive in the city of Hamburg late afternoon where we can celebrate what must be one of the most scenic rides on this planet.

Departure Day 21: Spend a couple of days in wonderful Hamburg or continue you onward journey
