Ride Profile

The weekend course is 100% off road and riders will be taught how to manage steep inclines, loose gravel and rocky surfaces which are all part of this training experience. Participants will learn all the essential skills to become a competent and safe off-road rider. This is the training course that Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman completed before their epic Long Way Round ride.
The 5 day adventure following the course is 60% on road. Some sections of pavement can be narrow with sharp twisties and blind corners. Steep drop offs are the norm.

40% of this ride is off road. All types of surfaces are to be expected, from loose shale to very steep ascent and descents through thick forests. Many dirt tracks are very winding with blind corners and massive drop offs. Some tracks can have very large potholes, loose deep gravel or can be muddy depending on recent rainfalls.

Although some time is spent on road the majority of time is spent off road
