Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to the neon heart of the American Southwest - Las Vegas! Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and meet your Compass Expeditions crew. We’ll get you set up on your bike, complete any paperwork, then gather for a welcome dinner to meet your fellow riders and raise a toast to the adventure ahead.
Day 2: We’ll roll out of Las Vegas and ride across the Nevada desert toward the mighty Hoover Dam. After soaking in this engineering marvel, we continue to Oatman - a quirky Route 66 town known for its donkeys, before making our way to Lake Havasu, where the historic London Bridge now calls home.
Day 3: Soak up the wide-open desert as we ride through the surreal beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, where otherworldly landscapes and twisted Joshua trees stretch for miles. We continue to Palm Desert, framed by mountain backdrops and known for its palm-lined streets and relaxed resort-town vibe.
Day 4: We leave the desert behind and climb into the San Bernardino Mountains via some of Southern California’s most celebrated motorcycling roads—scenic, winding routes favoured by L.A. riders. The day ends in the alpine tranquillity of Lake Arrowhead.
Day 5: Another day, another unforgettable ride awaits. We’ll take on the stunning Angeles Crest Highway, Angeles Forest Highway, and Caliente Bodfish Road - a true rider’s paradise filled with curves and spectacular scenery. Our day ends in Kernville, a charming town known for its laid-back riverside vibe.
Day 6: Crossing the southern Sierra Nevada, we’ll descend into the surreal expanse of Death Valley National Park, ride through the incredible landscape of Badwater Basin (North America’s lowest point at 282 feet below sea level) and then settle in for the night at Furnace Creek.
Day 7: We loop back toward Las Vegas, stopping at Ubehebe Crater and Scotty’s Castle - eerie, remote, and utterly fascinating spots. The ride is relaxed with plenty of photo opportunities before we return to Sin City for another night.
Day 8: Back on Route 66, we head to the nostalgia-rich town of Seligman. From classic diners and vintage neon signs to quirky roadside attractions, Seligman perfectly captures the spirit and timeless charm of Americana and the Mother Road.
Day 9: We follow historic Route 66 to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, a sight beyond words. From there, the ride continues through the vast desert landscapes of Navajo Nation to the iconic red rock formations of Monument Valley. Tonight, we rest near Mexican Hat, where endless horizons await.
Day 10: We start the day marvelling at the teetering rock formation that gave Mexican Hat its name, before jumping on the bikes to tackle the twisty Moki Dugway and sweep through the Valley of the Gods. We’ll visit the ancient ruins of Hovenweep and the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde before finishing in Cortez.
Day 11: We leave Cortez behind, winding through sculpted canyons and river valleys as we follow the Colorado River into Moab—Utah’s adventure capital. Set against a dramatic red rock backdrop, Moab has an undeniable energy, and you’ll soon see why as we settle in for the night.
Day 12: Take the day to explore the stunning red rock landscapes around Moab. Visit Arches National Park, hike a trail, or just relax in town. Optional activities abound, or simply kick back and take it all in.
Day 13: Ride through Natural Bridges National Monument and skirt the shores of Lake Powell as we rumble toward the charming town of Torrey. Rural Utah rolls out a stunning backdrop of red rock, desert stretches, and high-country scenery, an unforgettable blend of solitude, scale, and sweeping views.
Day 14: Brace yourself for some of the most visually striking riding in North America as we follow the Burr Trail, carve through Bryce Canyon National Park, and take on the sweeping curves of Highway 12 across the Grand Staircase-Escalante. We wrap up the day near Zion National Park, deep in Utah’s red rock country.
Day 15: We close out the ride in dramatic style, starting in Zion National Park, then rolling through the fiery landscapes of Valley of Fire State Park on our return trip to Las Vegas. That evening, we gather for a farewell dinner and share stories of an unforgettable journey.
