The vehicle provided to you by Compass Expeditions for the duration of your participation in a tour will be insured. However, you will be responsible for any penalties, fines, and damage excess charges imposed by the vehicle supplier for damage deemed to be your responsibility by Compass Expeditions and/or our third-party provider.

For clarity, the term “damage” does not include reasonable wear and tear. Minor blemishes such as paint chips caused by gravel, stones, or insects are considered normal wear and tear. Conversely, damage resulting from accidents, dropping the motorcycle, or riding through bushes or off-road terrain is not considered normal wear and tear and may incur additional charges.

We provide you, the rider/driver, a way to minimise your responsibility for loss or damage to the vehicle through the purchase of our Excess Reduction Policy (ERP). ERP is not insurance, it is a waiver of Compass Expeditions’ right to collect, as per the terms and conditions, from the rider/driver for the loss and or damage to the vehicle.
