True North: Alaska – The Research Run Gallery Back to News List

Bayne, one of our trusted Compass Expeditions all rounders has just completed the research trip for our new True North: Alaska motorcycle tour.

We had him hit the road following routes that we thought would be perfect for an amazing ride through this staggeringly beautiful landscape. Sometimes we were spot on other times Bayne was able to find an even better or more spectacular road or sight that we had not considered. He was also researching the accommodation and sight seeing along the way to make sure that this, the newest Compass Expeditions tour, would fit with our extremely high standards required for a tour to be offered to our discerning guests.

On his return Bayne reported back with confirmation, alteration and amendments for the original plan that have resulted in an absolutely must do adventure around the “Patagonia of the North”.  Some of the outstanding highlights of the tour include:

  • Turnagain Arm
  • Port town of Seward
  • North Americas highest peak of Mt McKinley
  • Crossing the Arctic Circle
  • Remote Coldfoot truck stop
  • Riding the legendary Dalton Highway
  • End of the road at Prudhoe Bay
  • Stunning Wrangell / St Elias National Park
  • Breathtaking Valdez
  • Matanusa Glacier
