Rocky Creek’s Pocket Pump does the job on the road from Cairo To Cape Town! Back to News List

Compass Expeditions is testing out some of the great products from the Rocky Creek Designs range on our 80-Day, 16,500km, Cairo to Cape Town Expedition.

One inevitable thing when you are riding the length of Africa is sand!

Many motorcyclists dread riding in sand, but with a bit of planning it can be made a lot easier.

Mick McDonald, one of the founders of Compass Expeditions and the expedition leader and Andrew our lead rider know a bit about preparing bikes for all types of terrain. They recommend dropping tyre pressure before you head into sand and re-inflating to road pressure once you return to a solid surface.

The Rocky Creek Designs Pocket Pump has been kept busy on this ride as our 15 adventurous riders move though Egypt and Sudan.

After a visit to the 3,500 year old Jebel Barkel Pyramids in Sudan Mick and our Lead Rider Andrew were happy to have a couple of Pocket pumps on hand to get the bikes back on the road.
