Lois is going to be leading our Tassie Devilettes womans only ride in November and she is quite the legend….in 2003 Lois left her job at the BBC and decided that the time was right to travel the length of the Americas, from Alaska to Ushuaia. There was only one machine for the job and that clearly was the Yamaha XT225 Serow.

A journey of such magnitude is never an easy thing but it is definitely an extraordinary adventure requiring patience, humour and tenacity….Lois has all of this and has since gone on to travel through Africa on a TT 250R, The USA with a Ural Sidecar (and a husband) and then, in 2012, to lead the Compass Expeditions Trip through Brazil along the stunning Brazilian coast and up into the mountains via winding roads perfect for a motorcycle.

The twisting hairpins, mountain waterfalls, butterflies, birds and beaches were challenging but fantastic for the group of ladies who fast became friends on this journey.

In 2013 Lois is again leading a tour for Compass Expeditions in Tasmania, Australia with three of the riders from the original trip returning to join Lois…we are expecting more laughs and a relaxed atmosphere as well a chance to explore the twists and turns of Tasmania.

If you get a moment, take the time to have a look at Lois’s website and read extracts from her inspiring trips, get a feel for who Lois is and what it takes to do a long trip solo!! There are some great photos and Lois always seems to have a smile on her face which is why she is such a popular ride leader…

More information about the trip in November can be found by visiting our Tassie Devilettes tour and we have a couple of spaces left for any ladies who want to experience riding with a like-minded a genuine bunch of enthusiasts –
