Most thought we wouldn’t last a year, to be honest either did we!!

Compass Expeditions was started more so that we could help raise funds for Friedreichs Ataxia Network, a support group close to our heart, than getting others to pay for us to ride around the world each year.

It is exactly 10 years ago today that Brendan Barbetti & Mick McDonald sat over the kitchen table at Brendan’s place in Clifton Hill, Melbourne, and went online to the Australian Business Register website and formed Compass Expeditions Pty Ltd. We looked at each other and asked in unison, “what next?”

Neither of us, including our other business partners, Jerry Cook & Ryan Heath could possibly have imagined what lay ahead of us. Suffice to say we didn’t go broke a year later and the last ten years has been the most amazing ride of our lives.
