Gearlock to the rescue! Back to News List

At the Phillip Island Motorcycle Classics a few weeks ago, I found myself in a dilemma that has plagued me on a number of occasions.

I had ridden my old BMW to the event, appropriately attired in my favourite, old school leather jacket (you have to look the part, right?).

It’s a beautiful day down at the island, 35 degrees, the sky is blue and the sun is gleaming on a sea of polished paint and chrome in the pit area.

There are photos to be shot, beverages to be sipped and lunch to be consumed, dragging a number of kilos of leather around all day was going to be annoying to say the least.

But reaching into my saddlebag I came out with the solution!

I had recently acquired a Gearlock lock and cable combination from Rocky Creek Designs and due to its compact size and neat neoprene cover had almost forgotten that it was at the bottom of my bag.

30 seconds later, after threading the cable through the sleeve of my jacket and helmet, I secured it all to my bike. Free now to wander uninhibited and safe in the knowledge that no antique hunter would be wondering off with my riding gear, I headed over to the track.
