Notes from the Saddle 2: Serra do Rio Rastro and Iguazu Falls Back to News List

Jerry has been in Brazil with our new guides on the 2013 South America Coast to Coast Motorcycle Tour which travels from the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro on the Atlantic and ends 42 days later in Lima, Peru on the Pacific Coast.
The day started out with the typical morning fog but once again the weather was on our side and the fog lifted and we were blessed with another beautiful day. The riding on the Serra do Rio Rastro was spectacular as always and this is the reason why it is one of our Top 10 rides in South America. The Serra do Rio Rastro is one of the most spectacular roads in Brazil offering amazing views out over the verdant forests of the Emerald Coast and a series of tight switch-backs that keep every rider alert….
The next stop was the wonderful Iguaçu Falls. We spent two days in Foz visiting both the Brazilian and Argentinean side of the falls. Many clients took a helicopter flight over the falls and given a birds eye view of these impressive waterfalls, 275 in total. The included Jet boat ride on the Argentinean side of the falls was a thrilling experience as always.
The next section of the tour has the group travelling across the Chaco (Argentina flatlands) and into the mighty Andes to La Paz. Stay tuned for the next update…
